Ouside-in
First version with copywrited music.

I wanted to come in to my own house but I am locked out of it. It is my own self that is locked. My own fears, inhibitions, loss that keeps my on the outside.

The Evil Stepmother

The myth of becoming the perfect Stepmother. This is a true confessions of thoughts on how I became the wicked stepmother. This cannot be shown in public because it is too much of a confessional. It is more cathartic and therapeutic.

Wicked Stepmother: Snow White
Version with copywrited material

How many wicked stepmother tales are there?  What qualities does a wicked stepmother possess? “I am not a wicked stepmother!” I declare. I wonder how many wicked stepmothers there really are?

This exploration of the Mythical Wicked Stepmother reveals the ancient views of the stepmother found in fairy tales. The views always involved the mother’s death and the stepmother’s jealousy of the children.

This video asks if the modern stepmother is anything like the mythical one? In the video I declare that I am not the wicked stepmother.

Wicked or not so Wicked

What makes a person wicked? Does what I do make me good or evil? The image of crochet speaks of matronly, goodness. Can I be evil and crochet? Traditionally dance has been an act of temptation and evil.  If I dance am I good or evil? Am I evil because I wear black or white? Am I evil or good because I listen to certain music? Am I evil because I am a stepmother?

Tale of Two tales
I can not show this in public because it is too true. It might hurt those who are involved.

As I rip out the threads of the past I deconstruct the stories. Layers of family history that make up the current picture.

As I wind up the yarn I begin to assemble the facts and create something new that combines both stories.
